On behalf of the National Congress of American Indians and the Intertribal Transportation Association, Hobbs Straus advocated for the adoption of legislative language and to increase IRR Program funding and expand transportation programs available to tribes in the SAFETEA-LU highway authorization.

Marie Osceola-Branch, an enrolled member of the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida, joined Hobbs Straus in 1994, following 14 years of serving successively as health education coordinator, tribal school principal, and government programs manager for the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida.

Marie’s work on behalf of our tribal clients includes monitoring and advocacy on a range of legislative and appropriations issues, including Indian Self-Determination, housing, BIA and HUD budgets, gaming and transportation. Marie worked extensively on the reauthorization of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and on the 2001 reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (P.L. 107-110).
